Walker played 16 times for Milan during his loan spell from Manchester City in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign but it had appeared they were not going to sign him permanently. Speaking at the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday, however, he said, "yes, yes, maybe" when asked about a potential future with the club.

The appointment of Allegri potentially changes Milan's transfer plans, with the Italian intent on returning the club to the top of Serie A. Walker is almost certainly set to be available on a permanent deal after City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed he would not be part of their squad for the Club World Cup.

Walker was speaking at the Grand Prix as a member of the England squad set to play Andorra in a World Cup qualifying clash in Spain on Saturday. The 35-year-old is currently on 95 Three Lions caps and extending his top-level career could help him hit 100.
